Light-cured adhesive composite resin technology, or bonding, as it is commonly called, is a modern technique to repair teeth with a tooth-colored material.
This bonding material can be used to repair damaged or broken front teeth, close spaces between front teeth, and reshape teeth as needed to correct the appearance or to restore function.
In order to restore a tooth with bonding, the remaining tooth surface is prepared by creating micropits with intense air abrasion and then creating a frosty surface with a very mild acid gel. This prepared surface then can be “bonded to” with a tooth-colored material that can be shaped and polished.
Bonded resin restoration can replace missing parts of teeth to invisibly restore the appearance and function
